The Cleveland Cavaliers trade with the Los Angeles Lakers has thrown a monkey-wrench into the University of Washington's plans to honor former Husky basketball star and Tacoma native Isaiah Thomas.
UW had planned to retire Thomas's Husky jersey #2 on Thursday, February 15 in Alaska Airlines Arena. That ceremony along with the current team's success has produced a near sell-out crowd.
Unfortunately Thomas and the Lakers are playing an NBA game in Minnesota February 15.
After a meeting of the minds the jersey retirement has been moved to Saturday, February 17 when the Dawgs host Colorado.
Fans who purchased single-game tickets for the February 15 game can ask for a refund. More details can be found here.
