SEATTLE -- Volunteers from across the country are pouring into Florida. They’re ready to help out with the rescue and relief operations after Hurricane Irma hits. The same thing happened in Texas in the aftermath of Harvey.

Some of these volunteers include drone pilots. They’re able to provide eyes in the sky that can save lives when disaster strikes.

A group called DroneUp helps organize these missions.

On the KOMO Midday News (weekdays 1-3pm), Jim Harenchar, DroneUp's Chief Marketing Officer, explained what they can do. (Click the picture above to hear the audio).
