Wishes In Flight: The laugh, and the trip, that made everything OK
SEATTLE, Wash. -- Today, we're asking KOMO listeners, viewers, and website readers to donate airline miles to Make-A-Wish, so the organization can grant dream experiences to kids dealing with critical illnesses.
Kids like Landen, who has a very infectious laugh.
Landen has always been able to make everyone in the room smile, even though many days, he doesn't really have a reason to laugh.
“Landen had a heart transplant at three months old,” says his mom, Tammy Bowers. “In two weeks we have his 17th surgery.”
The 8 year-old MORE than qualified to have a wish granted by Make-A-Wish. Last September, he chose to go to Italy. Why?
“Because I knew Italy had the best pizza in the whole world,” says the grinning kid. “…except for Hawaiian.”
Where do they make ‘Hawaiian’ pizza, Landen?
“Everywhere except for Italy,” he responds without missing a beat.
