Report Calls Gun Ownership Background Checks ‘Shamefully Flawed’

SEATTLE -- Few would argue that the system of background checks prior to purchase a gun is working as intended. Many of the shooters in recent mass murder, like the recent massacre at a Texas church, should not have been able to pass a background check. But they did and the results were horrendous.

Investigative reporter Bob Sullivan, an expert on technology and databases, took a look at this and concluded that there's a big problem here. On the KOMO Midday News (weekdays 1-3pm) Sullivan shared his findings and his concerns. (Click the picture above to hear the audio).
