Police search for driver who struck five spring breakers in Texas
SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas - South Padre Island police need the public’s help locating a driver who struck five pedestrians on South Padre Island early Friday morning.
Around 12:40 a.m., South Padre Island police received a call regarding an auto-pedestrian crash at the 4200 Block of Gulf Boulevard.
When emergency responders arrived, they found three people on the street with serious injuries; two others suffered minor injuries, according to a news release by the City of South Padre Island.
The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, according to the news release.
Investigators believe the suspect drove a black or dark-colored Honda CR-V or Pilot into the group, according to the news release. The suspect vehicle might have front end damage.
The pedestrians ranging from 16 to 22 years old were transported by EMS to local hospitals.
