Woman killed by train in Edmonds

EDMONDS, Wash. -- A 41-year-old woman was hit and killed by a train in Edmonds on Sunday night.

The incident occurred about 7:10 p.m. near the Haines Wharf. Amtrak confirmed that a train that wasn't carrying passengers hit the woman.

A spokesman for the Edmonds Police Department said a woman and her husband were close to the tracks.

The train went by, hitting the woman.

The husband was uninjured.

The tracks have been shut down.
