Westbound Hwy. 512 reopens in Parkland after multi-vehicle crash
PARKLAND, Wash. - At least one person had to be extricated Thursday after a multi-vehicle crash that blocked all westbound lanes of State Route 512 in Parkland for about two hours, emergency officials said.
Troopers and medics responded to the scene, near the Ainsworth Avenue overpass, at 9:55 a.m. after receiving reports of a serious accident.
Trooper Brooke Bova of the Washington State Patrol says witnesses reported multiple vehicles were involved.
She said a driver's leg was trapped in one vehicle and that firefighters rescued him using extrication equipment.
Other injuries were also reported, Bova said.
The circumstances leading up to the crash are under investigation.
Traffic was diverted to State Route 7 during the highway closure, but all lanes have since reopened.
