Third person arrested in disappearance of Bonney Lake teen
TENINO, Wash. - Investigators said Thursday, a third person has been arrested in the disappearance of Bonney Lake teen Lily Christopherson.
KOMO News is not naming the man because he has not been charged, but detectives said he could face possible felony charges.
The reward for information to help find 15-year-old Christopherson has also been increased to $5,000.
Volunteers gathered in Tenino Thursday to post fliers, expanding the search and working off a tip that Christopherson may have been in the area.
She's been missing for more than three weeks.
Helen Meyer is one of the dozen volunteers who showed up to continue the search for Christopherson. She said the case has made her talk more about safety with her own daughter.
"I told my daughter to be safe and not to meet people that are online and to protect herself at all times," said Meyer.
The community is stepping up to post more fliers in the hopes of finding Christopherson.
"There's been some information that's been released that there have been some belongings that were found in Tenino that may belong to Lily and so there's a connection here," said Chandra Shilley, who organized the search.
"It's now in our neighborhood and it's everyone else's neighborhood," said Brent Erwin, who lives in Centralia. "It's kind of scary to think it could be happening right next door so it's the least I can do to come out and help and see if we can't put and end to this."
Volunteers put their plan together Wednesday night, after getting a tip.
Shilley said Tenino is a small town, everybody knows everybody. They hope someone will see a flyer and come forward.
