Shot fired as armed robbery suspect captured following Kent police chase
KENT, Wash. -- An armed robbery suspect has been arrested but a second robber remains on the loose after a robbery in Kent Wednesday morning.
Police were called to a gas station in the 1800 block of West Meeker Street just before 2 a.m. for a report that two men with guns had robbed the store then drove off in a car.
Officers found the fleeing car and attempted to pull it over, but the car sped off, Kent police say.
A chase ensued and went into Federal Way where the fleeing driver crashed at 296th Place and Military Road, and the two men got out and ran.
A Kent officer fired one shot at the suspects, but missed.
One of the suspects was eventually captured but the second one is still on the run, police said. No other details about the fugitive were given.
Investigators are still getting more details about the robbery.
