Seahawks fans hopeful team can make a playoff run
SEATTLE - It may not have shown on the scoreboard, but fans say the Seattle Seahawks delivered in Thursday night’s exhibition opener.
The Hawks hosted the Indianapolis Colts to start the NFL preseason and there is a lot to love in what played out on the field.
The final score was 19-17 with the Colts on top, but what really matters is how the Seahawks looked and whether any of the new prospects stepped up. The 12s said there is no doubt their team has all the makings of another playoff run.
One of the highlights was the performance of star quarterback Russell Wilson, who served up just what the fans needed.
“That button hook around the outside edge was great,” said Dan Swanson of Wilson’s opening touchdown drive. “He looked fantastic. he looked yoked and ready to go."
Fans saw most of the starters leave the field after that opening possession. Still, there was a lot to like among the back-ups.
“I just like seeing all the new players come out and showing what they got and I look forward to seeing more games,” said Philip Mehlenbacher.
Even though it's preseason and the final score doesn't matter, what counts among the 12s is that the Hawks are back in the house and they've come to play.
