Rescuers searching for 2 missing snowboarders in Mt. Baker Ski Area

MT. BAKER, Wash. - Bad weather is slowing down the search for two missing snowboarders in the Mt. Baker Ski Area.

A roommate reported the two men missing after they didn't return from a trip to the mountain on Sunday.

Whatcom County Sheriff's deputies found their car in the parking lot on Monday morning. Crews searched the area but did not find and sign of the snowboarders.

Storms on Monday and Tuesday hampered search efforts.

Rescuers from the the sheriff's office, U.S. Boarder Patrol and the Mt. Baker Ski Area planned to resume their search on Wednesday if conditions are safe.

The sheriff's office the snowboarders are from Bellingham and both families have been notified of the search and rescue efforts.
