Police identify 2 suspects accused of kidnapping pot shop worker
CHENEY, Wash.- Cheney police have identified two of three suspects accused of being involved in the kidnapping of a marijuana shop employee in Cheney on Sunday.
Police say 36-year-old Donavon Culps and 18-year-old Violetta Culps, who are related, are both seen on security camera footage from the Lucid Cannabis Company in Cheney. Both suspects are from the White Swan area near Yakima.
Police say they believe Lucid Cannabis Shop employee Cameron Smith was shot at by Donavon Culps while taking a break in his car in the store parking lot on Sunday. Security footage then showed Donavon Culps getting into Smith's 2008 Acura SUV and driving off.
Violletta Culps left the store in a white Ford F-250 pickup truck with another woman who hasn't been identified.
No one has seen or heard from Smith since Sunday, and the suspects all remain at large.
Cheney police believe the attack was random. They have contacted the FBI, U.S. Marshals Office and Yakima Tribal Police to help with the investigation into the kidnapping.
Anyone who sees the suspects or who knows of their whereabouts is urged to contact police.
