Person of interest in stabbing caught urinating in security cam footage
SEATTLE - Police have released photos of a person of interest in a stabbing in Ballard last week, and ask for the public's help in identifying him. The photos were taken from a security cam that caught the man urinating on the side of an animal hospital.
Jonah Spangenthal-Lee of the Seattle police said the stabbing happened in the 600 block of NW 45th Street at around 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2.
Police received a report that a man had been stabbed and responded to the scene, where they found a 34-year-old victim with serious stab wounds to the chest. The suspect fled and the victim was rushed to Harborview Medical Center. A search of the area did not locate the suspect.
An investigation found that the victim reportedly was stabbed after he confronted the suspect, who was seen slashing the tires of several vehicles in the area.
The investigation also found surveillance footage from a nearby animal hospital, showing a man urinating on the side of the building. Detectives consider him a person of interest and would like to speak with him about the stabbing.
Anyone with information or who recognizes the man in the photos is urged to call Seattle police at (206) 233-5000.
