Motorcyclist killed after crashing on I-5 overpass in Seattle
SEATTLE - A motorcyclist was killed after crashing on an Interstate 5 overpass just south of Seattle Wednesday night, according to the State Patrol.
It happened around 8:45 p.m. on the overpass from Michigan Street to northbound I-5.
Investigators believe the motorcyclist was speeding when he struck a barrier on the right, was then ejected from his bike and went over the guardrail and landed on the off ramp from I-5 to Michigan Street.
Troopers said the motorcyclist, a 46-year-old man from Seattle, died at the scene. No other vehicles were involved.
The left lane of I-5 in that area was closed for more than three hours while troopers investigated and cleared the scene.
