HINES, Ore. - A motorcyclist killed in a collision with a semi truck in Oregon this week has been identified as a Bellingham, Wash., man.
The incident unfolded Tuesday afternoon along Highway 205 near Hines, Ore., said Capt. Tim Fox of the Oregon State Police.
A semi rig with two trailers full of hay was turning left onto a local road when the motorcycle rider, David McNeill, 74, of Bellingham, attempted to pass it.
The motorcycle slid under the first semi trailer before coming to a stop. The semi-truck and trailers were able to stop without running over McNeill, but he suffered very severe injuries.
McNeill was taken to a local hospital then airlifted to Saint Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho, where he died of his injuries Wednesday night.
