Man suspected in fatal Blaine hit-and-run surrenders to troopers
BLAINE, Wash. -- A man suspected of fatally striking a pedestrian with his car then driving from the scene has turned himself in to police.
The victim, a 33-year-old Joshua Reynolds of Blaine, was found by a passerby in a ditch along the 3900 block of Birch-Bay-Lynden Road Monday morning.
"There's debris and other evidence at the scene to suggest he was struck by a vehicle," Trooper Mark Francis said Monday.
The medical examiner believes a truck's side mirror hit Reynolds in the head.
Wednesday, troopers said a 37-year-old man from Lynden had surrendered to police. He's been booked into the Whatcom County Jail.
