Man shot in Seattle's Maple Leaf neighborhood overnight
SEATTLE - A 40-year-old man is battling life-threatening injuries after an overnight shooting in Seattle's Maple Leaf neighborhood, police said.
Officers and medics responded to the scene, the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store in the 8200 block of Lake City Way NE, at about 3 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a 911 call saying a man had been shot.
The victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds, said Detective Mark Jamieson of the Seattle police.
Officers immediately began CPR. Medics arrived on scene and rushed the man to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Police searched the area but did not find a suspect. Some evidence was collected at the scene.
Investigators believe that the suspect and the victim, who may be acquainted, got into an argument in the parking lot prior to the shooting, Jamieson said. There is no suspect description at this time.
All lanes on Lake City Way NE from NE 80th St to NE 86th St were blocked for the investigation, but have since reopened.
