Longview boy, 14, accused of stabbing grandmother in neck as she slept
LONGVIEW, Wash. – Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 14-year-old boy Monday who’s accused of stabbing his grandmother in the neck.
Deputies responded to the 800 block of Stella Road, about four miles south of Longview, around 8 p.m. for a report of a stabbing.
Police say a 55-year-old man who lived at the house told dispatch that his 59-year-old sister was stabbed in the neck by her grandson.
Deputies arrived at the home and found the 14-year-old grandson standing in the living room motionless.
The victim’s brother was attending to her injury.
Deputies say she had been stabbed in the neck with a large kitchen knife while sleeping on a couch.
An ambulance transported the victim to St. John Hospital. She was out of surgery and in stable condition Tuesday morning.
Investigators say the same boy had been previously arrested in Skagit County for stabbing his mother.
The 14-year-old boy was booked at the juvenile detention facility Monday night for investigation of first-degree assault.
