'Houston is Calling:' City makes pitch for Amazon's HQ2 with banner over Seattle
SEATTLE - The city of Houston is going 'sky high' to get Amazon's attention, literally.
A plane flying a banner message for Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos was seen flying over downtown Seattle on Friday.
The banner read, "Jeff, Houston is Calling" followed by a web address for the city of Houston's proposal for Amazon's second headquarters location.
Generation Park, a commercial development in Houston, is responsible for the banner.
Amazon is currently reviewing more than 200 bids from cities and regions in the United States, Canada and Mexico for it's second home, that's been dubbed 'HQ2.'
Earlier this week, The Boston Globe reported Amazon was in negotiations to lease one office building and possibly two in Boston as it expands it's workforce there.
Most cities and states are remaining tight-lipped about the possible tax breaks or other financial incentives they are offering the online giant.
The location of the second headquarters is expected to be announced later this year.
