Des Moines homeowners find man who set up home in their garage

DES MOINES, Wash. - Des Moines homeowners found a man asleep Sunday in their garage. where he had set up a home.

Police say the homeowners called police about 3 p.m. Sunday to the home in the 1600 block of South 269th Court.

Police said the man had moved things around to make an apartment for himself. Police say he had been living there for at least longer than a day.

The homeowners didn't press charges. but police arrested the 28-year-old man on misdemeanor warrants.

A stolen car was parked in front of the garage.

It was stolen Sunday morning from the 22400 block of 28th Avenue South in Des Moines

Police are trying to figure out whether the man in the garage had anything to do with the stolen car.
