PORT ORCHARD, Wash. - Decades of memorabilia are being given away Wednesday as an era comes to an end in Port Orchard.

Why is it over?

Rick Gehring and his family are beginning a new chapter in life.

“Karin and I are proud new grandparents. We’re now first-time grandparents,” Rick tells KOMO News.

Which means there is no time for the family business.

Rick's dad opened Buck's A&W Drive-In in 1959. For decades, it was THE place to go after sporting events, or for school or sports team fund-raisers. Over the years, the restaurant collected all kinds of things - jerseys, posters and plaques from sports teams from the 1960s through about 2015.

The restaurant has been closed for a while now, and next month a new restaurant will open - meaning all these collectibles have to go.

Rick says he wants you to come down, find something you want to save, and take it home with you.
