FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - An armed robbery suspect is in custody after he was tracked down by a K-9 police dog overnight in Federal Way, police said.

The incident unfolded at around 10:30 p.m. Sunday when officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Chevron station in the 1600 block of SW Dash Point Road, said Cmdr. Kurt Schwan of the Federal Way police.

A K-9 dog was brought to the scene and picked up a scent, which led police to a residence in the 31400 block of 13th Avenue SW.

Multiple officers surrounded the home and contacted the residents. One of them was identified as the suspect in the robbery. He was taken into custody without further incident, Schwan said.

Detectives later executed a search warrant at the suspect's residence.

No one was injured during the incident.
