66-year-old man struck by car, killed in Seattle's Interbay area
SEATTLE - A pedestrian was struck by a car and killed while crossing the street Wednesday morning near Seattle's Interbay district.
Police and medics responded to the scene, at 15th Avenue West and West Armory Way, at around 10 a.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian.
A 66-year-old male victim was found in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A witness tells KOMO News that the man was using a cane while crossing the street when he was struck and killed.
The circumstances leading up to the accident are under investigation. The driver of the car remained at the scene and was being evaluated.
One lane of 15th Avenue is closed in each direction while officers investigate.
