3 found dead inside Sammamish home in possible murder-suicide
SAMMAMISH, Wash. - Official are investigating a possible murder suicide after three people were found dead Tuesday afternoon inside a home in a Sammamish neighborhood, the King County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies were called to a home in the 23900 block of Southeast 42nd Place, in the Klahanie neighborhood of Sammamish, after relatives called from out of state saying they couldn't reach their family members and wanted a welfare check. The first units on scene had to force their way into the home when no one answered the door.
“Once inside the deputies found an elderly male and female. They were both deceased, and they found an about 30-year-old male, also deceased from gunshot wounds,” said Sgt. Ryan Abbott with the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators also found a gun in the home which they believe is the murder weapon. At this point it’s not clear which family member killed the others.
“She was a good woman,” said Ethan Kim, a neighbor who occasionally saw the elderly woman. “She was very nice, always would see her along the side of the road tending to her garden."
Investigators said there is no ongoing threat to the community, and official identification of the victims will come from the medical examiner.
