3 injured after head-on crash in Port Orchard
PORT ORCHARD, Wash. -- Three people were injured Friday afternoon after a head-on collision on in Port Orchard, according to deputy Wilson with the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to the crash about 2:11 p.m. in the 15600 block of Carney Lake Road Southwest.
According to Wilson, the incident happened when a Subaru going northbound on Carney Lake Road crossed the middle line and crashed head-on into a car going southbound.
The male driver of the Subaru was reportedly not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car. He was taken to Tacoma General Hospital.
A female passenger in the Subaru had to be rescued after being trapped inside the car and was taken Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to Wilson. Her injuries are unclear at this time. The female driver of the other vehicle was also taken to Tacoma General.
The ages of the three injured are unknown at this time. Washington State Patrol is looking to see if drugs or alcohol played a role.
The road is closed in the area. There is no estimated time that it will reopen.
