Man crashes van into tree, abandons injured passenger

SEATTLE -- Seattle police say a man was arrested early Saturday morning after leaving his crashed van with an injured man inside.

The injured man was transported to Harborview Medical Center in downtown Seattle with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m. The van, a Chevy Astro, was headed north in the 100 block of Martin Luther King Junior Way east.

The driver swerved, jumped a curb and hit a tree, police say.

The driver got out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot, leaving his injured passenger trapped in the van.
