1 officer hurt, 4 patrol cars damaged in chase in Bothell

A wild chase involving an alleged DUI driver in Bothell ended with four police cars damaged and one officer hurt Tuesday night.

The incident started with some sort of dispute inside the Gallo de Oro restaurant at 10015 main involving a customer. The man went outside and got into his car and started driving around the parking lot erratically.

Other customers flagged down a passing officer who then tried to stop the man. The man left the parking lot and other officers joined the pursuit. Several blocks from the restaurant, the man threw his car in reverse and rammed a patrol car. The officer inside suffered a neck injury and was taken to the hospital. The injury is not life-threatening.

The chase continued with the man hitting three more patrol cars before he was finally arrested at 238th and Meridian about 8:20 p.m. No one else was hurt.

Bothell police said he faces DUI and first-degree assault charges.
